What to do when the dimensions of a doorway where loft doors are to be installed are different from the standard dimensions of loft-type doors offered by door showrooms or manufacturers, e.g. Portamet Standard?

How to order tailored loft doors?
It is very simple. Just contact us at info@portamet.com and send us your inquiry. It would be great if your inquiry contained your design drawings with dimensions, but if such documentation is not available, only the dimensions of a doorway should be enough, along with a hand-drawn sketch, possibly inspired by our inspiration zone, our photo gallery with already completed projects with crittall style doors, or simply from the internet. Please also let us know about additional guidelines, if any – in terms of colours, thickness of internal grille (mullions or muntins), non-standard location of installation, and anything that may affect the final design or may hinder installation in the future (pipes, cables, electric outlets, washboards, crooked walls, etc.), opening direction (left or right), desired lead time.
What else should you keep in mind when ordering bespoke steel doors?
That is actually it. In the case of any doubts or questions we will contact you to clarify everything. From that moment we start to implement the order – always the same sequence: first the production drawings, i.e. the engineering documentation for production to set up the manufacturing process.
These drawings will include accurate dimensions, as well as key details related to the specific project, such as the project number, RAL colour, shut-and-lock solutions, width of mullions, etc. After approval of the production drawings we will commence the manufacturing phase – the engineering documentation is handed over to the workshop and loft-style glass walls are manufactured by our welders and fitters. Then the ready-made frame is transferred to the paint shop where it is powder-coated to the previously-agreed colour selected from the RAL palette.
Glass panels are assembled at the factory and the final products are dispatched to the appointed address, or installation by a factory team at the appointed address is being agreed upon.
